1. Strategic Execution
Studies have shown that between 70 and 90% of all strategies fail in execution. What are the underlying reasons for a failure to execute the strategic plan? What techniques exist for improving the success rate? In this program, the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing what’s needed is explored using industry cases and then specifically in your leadership setting. The program explores the cause-and-effect relationships between desired outcomes and the necessary changes in people, systems and processes. A strategy management system, including a strategy map, strategic scorecard and strategy review process, is defined and produced in the program for driving successful strategic change immediately after the program.
2. Change Management
Why is change resisted in some cases and embraced in others? What role does leadership play in driving successful change? Neuroscience is now providing key insights to the process of change leadership, highlighting behaviors that work and those that don’t. A powerful change model, applicable to many levels of organizational change, is explored and applied to the participants’ real-life examples. Understanding of the fundamental principles of followership and the machinery of the brain’s reward and pain circuitry provides new insight to the secrets of change management.
3. Leadership Styles
The best leaders have many similarities to world-class athletes. Leaders and athletes exhibit characteristics of strength, discipline and flexibility that often define their performance. In addition, just as Olympians often require specialized cross-training to achieve optimal performance, so do the world’s best leaders. Upward mobility is often constrained by a leaders’ lack of leadership tools that can be hand-selected to address a myriad of situations. Authoritative, collaborative, consensus and pacesetter styles are just a few of the styles that must be practiced and applied based on the specific leadership situation. This program describes the most effective leadership styles, their best conditions for application, a self-assessment to identify signature styles and an action planning process to target the best areas for improvement.
